May 26, 2010 - Los Angeles, CA -- Warbasse Design has a track record for creating cutting-edge mobile campaigns for Hollywood. After consulting on integrated media strategies using QR Codes for "9" the movie and Iron Man 2, Warbasse Design is now working with HBO® to promote the third season of the popular vampire series True Blood® to a mobile audience. In the process, they are making history.

Warbasse Design created the True Blood designer QR Code and the mobile user experience it points to. Warbasse placed the designer QR Code at the end of a 30-second television ad that aired on Sunday, May 23, during ABC's last episode of LOST® in NY, LA and Philadelphia. It is the first time in history that a designer QR Code has been placed in a Television ad. "The goal behind the strategy is to extend the conversation," said Philip Warbasse - CEO of Warbasse Design. "If you take a 30-second commercial and add a 2D barcode, you effectively extend your time with your audience. For now, it's a clever way to make the commercial last longer," continues Warbasse, "but, soon, QR Codes will become the preferred method for television advertisers to deliver extras to interested viewers."

HBO chose Plush Mobile Servers to host the mobile experience and stream the mobile video. View the designer QR Code in the True Blood television commercial below. The campaign intends to use DVR devices like TIVO®, which will allow one to freeze the commercial so they may scan the code. Once scanned, fans access a video clip available only through the code on mobile devices. But don't blink because it's gone in a flash.
