The Film
Tennis Anyone...? by Donal Logue (R)

Project Overview
Thanks in part to very large marketing budgets, Hollywood films still do well even if the press coverage is indifferent. That's not the case with independent films. Warbasse Design teamed up with BonoVox PR to create online public relations strategies for the independent feature film "Tennis Anyone...?"

Implementation
  • Online Press and Social PR pieces are written and distributed,
  • Responses to the promotion are tracked and press coverage efforts are doubled in select U.S. markets.

Client Services
  • Consulting,
  • Release publicity,*
  • Copywriting,
  • Press distribution,
  • Tracking.

*Release publicity - begins at the point a film is released in major markets. It will typically occur for the first three weeks that a film premiers or the first 3 episodes a TV show runs. It's the period when we double-up the excitement and interest around the film by leveraging social outlets such as YouTube, launching think pieces for social commentary online and in some cases, we create web-based games or online contests for viewers to take part in.

Results
Using both traditional and new media strategies to promote Tennis Anyone?..., Warbasse Design helped increase box office receipts in both East and West Coast markets by providing interested movie goers a multitude of ways to learn more about the movie.

About Donal Logue
Donal Logue, who is famous for his role as Jimmy the cab driver on MTV promos, is nothing like the greasy typical Boston cabby he portrays. Raised in El Centro, California, he was ASB president at his local high school, and went on to attend Harvard University. Although he had always considered himself a writer, his interest in theater was sparked at Harvard. He studied at the British-American Drama Academy in London, and performed in many plays before getting his break in Sneakers (1992). From there he went on to perform in movies such as Little Women (1994), Disclosure (1994), An Eye for an Eye (2002), and GhostRider (pictured above 2007). Even today, Donal enjoys writing almost more than acting. source: IMDB
